Stewart Downing has finalised his transfer from Aston Villa to Liverpool. The winger has signed a long-term deal after passing a medical.
Downing is the fourth major signing of the summer following Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Alexander Doni.
The Reds are still in the market for a left-back, a centre-back and a striker. If Kenny Dalglish can sign quality in these areas, LFC will be able mount a realistic challenge not only for the top 4, but for the Premier League Championship as well.
